Statement of Purpose & Guidelines
GENERAL STATEMENT:
1. The Metro Conference is organized for the purpose of helping the Senior Worship Pastor/Leader in the local church.
2. It is the desire of the Metro Conference to provide the best program and to aid the Senior Worship Pastor/Leader in each qualified conference.
3. Attending members should be able to contribute to the program because of their position as Senior Worship Pastor/Leader in the qualifying church. This brings to the table the similarities and experiences to benefit all attending members.
4. The committee charged with planning and monitoring the conference program and policies will consist of the present, the past, and the next scheduled hosts.
5. The church qualifies the person to attend the conference, not the person. This takes all pressure off the host in the invitation process.
6. Future conference host selection will be done 2 years in advance and will be agreed and voted on by the current conference each year.
7. Vendors/Sponsors will be allowed to sponsor events and expenses for the conference. They will be used at the host’s discretion throughout the conference.
8. No vendor/sponsors will be allowed to participate or attend in any closed discussion sessions.
9. The MetroMusic Conference email distribution list should reflect active attendance. Attendees will be removed from the email list after missing two consecutive conferences and then placed back on the list upon the next conference attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ATTENDING (returning and new attendees):
1. Those attending must be active a Senior Worship Pastor/Leader in a qualified local cooperating SBC church.
2. Attendees must meet the following attendance criteria in on-campus Saturday and/or Sunday worship attendance.
a. METRO I – 2000+
b. METRO II – 1000 - 2500
c. METRO III – 500 - 1500
3. Each year members must re-register for the conference. Registration forms not completely filled out will not be accepted. Registration becomes reserved and confirmed when payment is received.
4. Each member must plan to remain in attendance for the entire planned conference. This includes the beginning session through the final meeting.
HOST RIGHTS OF LEADERSHIP:
1. In addition to the 50 SBC attendees, the host has the option to invite 2 non-SBC guests and 2 additional guests of their choosing.
2. Non- SBC attending guest will only be invited for that specific year.
3. No non-SBC guest will be allowed to consecutively attend a METRO conference.
PROCESS FOR INVITATIONS:
1. Invitations will be sent to the previous two years attendees on June 1 of each year.
2. The previous years attendees will have till August 1 of each year to complete registration form before open invitations are sent to qualified SBC lists.
3. Open invitations to qualified SBC churches will be sent out on August 1 of each year.
4. All conference spots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.
